Upcoming Theme Issue

To celebrate the 150th  anniversary of Karl Marx’s Capital: Critique of Political Economy, we will be publishing an issue of SF short stories that intersect obliquely, collide directly, satirize hilariously, interrogate mercilessly, misappropriate shamelessly, reinterpret irresponsibly, or otherwise fuck about in some way with that classic science fictional text. The usual rules apply. Indicate that it is for the theme issue.

We accept original science fiction stories up to 4,000 words in length. While we delight in escapist fantasies, they are not what we are interested in publishing here. What we want most at Big Echo are thought experiments which push the conceptual and aesthetic boundaries of the genre.

Submissions should be sent as DOC, DOCX, or RTF attachments in standard manuscript form. Make sure the subject line begins with "Submission" and has the title of your story and your byline (e.g. Submission: Time Dogs/Peabody).

Simultaneous submissions are welcome but please inform us if they are accepted elsewhere.

If the story appears later in another venue, please credit Big Echo: Critical SF as the first publication.
